Markets see some profit booking in latter half

Indian equity markets saw a day in green today. In later half of the day, profit-booking also took place. Nifty 50 ended the day, up by 25.30 points. Sensex ended the day, up by 146.59 points. Top gainers today were Nestle India, ITC and HDFC. Top Losers today were JSW Steel, NTPC, and Bajaj Finserv.

Among broader market indicies, only Nifty Next 50 ended the day in red. It lost 0.12% during the day. Among sectoral indices, Nifty IT index lost 0.90% during the day. IT stocks saw selling and profit booking. Metal stocks and consumer durable stocks also saw selling pressure. Stocks of FMCG companies continued to see buying demand. Auto stocks also saw selling pressure. At Nifty, 55 stocks touched their 52 week high. 42 stocks touched their 52 week low.
