Markets trade lower with Nifty around 18,200 dragged by auto, realty stocks

Domestic benchmark indices trading in the red after a gap-up opening on Friday. Both the Sensex and Nifty benchmarks are marginally lower in the afternoon market session. Moreover, Indian markets may witness volatility amid mixed global cues.

On the sectoral front IT index was the top sectoral gainer by rising 0.50%. However, auto, banking and realty index fell between 0.5-1%.

At around 2:05 PM, Sensex was trading at 61,484.74 lower by 265.86 points or 0.43%. Nifty 50 traded at 18,262.10 lower 81.80 points or 0.45%

Top Bulls on Nifty 50 are: Kotak Bank (+0.65%), Tata Motors (+0.63%), SBI (+0.49%) supported by Hindustan Unilever (+0.23%) and Adani Enterprises (+0.21%). Meanwhile, top losers on Nifty are: M&M (-2.51%), Bajaj Finance (-1.45%), ONGC (-1.43%), Britannia (-1.24%) and IndusInd Bank (-1.23%).

Meanwhile, Foreign institutional investors bought a net of 6.18 billion Indian rupees ($75.8 million) worth of equities on Thursday, while domestic investors purchased 4.49 billion rupees of shares, provisional data on the National Stock Exchange showed.
