Bookings for the next premium three-row utility vehicle Invicto from Maruti Suzuki India began on Monday. According to a regulatory filing by Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), the car, which will be unveiled on July 5, can be reserved with a deposit of Rs 25,000 at the company’s upscale NEXA showrooms or online.
After achieving leadership in the Rs 15-20 lakh vehicle market previous fiscal year, the business will now enter the premium three-row segment with the Invicto as it seeks to establish a presence in the above Rs 20 lakh segment.
Shashank Srivastava, MSI Senior Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales), who talked to ET, estimates that the three-row SUV/MPV market sold about 2.58 lakh units in the most recent fiscal year, with cars costing more than Rs 20 lakh making up about 1.2-1.25 lakh of those sales.
Customers that desire a high-end three-row vehicle with both MPV and SUV features are the company’s target market.
As part of a global partnership between Toyota and Suzuki, MSI will purchase the powerful hybrid vehicle from Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM).
Innova HyCross is already sold by TKM on the home market, and MSI would receive the identical product with some design and other tweaks.
