Maruti Suzuki launches Fronx

The new Fronx small SUV from Maruti Suzuki India went on sale in the nation on Monday for a starting price of between Rs 7.46 lakh and Rs 13.13 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The vehicle is available with 1.2-litre gasoline and 1-litre turbo booster jet engines. At the Auto show earlier this year, the vehicle had been unveiled.

The price range for the 1.2-litre trims, which are available with manual and automated gear shift (AGS) transmissions, is between Rs7.46 lakh and Rs9.27 lakhs.

The 1-litre turbo booster jet engine-powered manual and automatic models range in price from Rs9.72 lakh to Rs13.13 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).

Hisashi Takeuchi, managing director and chief executive officer of Maruti Suzuki India, said in a statement to ET that the manufacturer takes pleasure in being in the forefront of understanding the various needs of customers and industry changes.

‘This dedication is demonstrated by the Brezza’s success, which changed the country’s compact SUV market. We recognised the emergence of a new sub-segment in the business due to the quick movement in consumer preferences towards SUVs.

‘The launch of FRONX is a part of our new approach towards pioneering the growth of this segment,’ he continued.

Along with Brezza and the Grand Vitara, Fronx is anticipated to expand the company’s range. Jimmy and Takeuchi, two brand-new models from Suzuki, are also anticipated.

According to the manufacturer, the 1.2-liter trims with a five-speed manual gearbox have a fuel efficiency of 21.79 km/l, while the five-speed AGS versions have a fuel efficiency of 22.89 km/l.

Similar to this, the six-speed automatic versions of the 1 litre engine trims return a fuel efficiency of 20.01 km per litre, and the five-speed manual versions give a fuel efficiency of 21.5 km per litre.

There will be 10 single- and dual-tone colour options available for the Maruti Suzuki Fronx compact SUV. Arctic White, Splendid Silver, and Earthern Brown are among the monochromatic colours. Splendid Silver with Blusih Black roof, Opulent Red with Blusih Black roof, and Earthern Brown with Blusih Black roof are the two-tone colour combinations.

According to the auto giant, Maruti Suzuki Subscribe offers the model for an all-inclusive monthly membership price starting at Rs17,378.
