Mother Dairy forecasts a 20% increase in sales to Rs15,000 crore in FY23

20 Sep 2022 , 02:19 PM

The top milk provider in Delhi-NCR, Mother Dairy, anticipates a 20% increase in revenue this fiscal year to over Rs15,000 crore due to higher product demand, according to its MD Manish Bandlish. In the most recent fiscal year, Mother Dairy, which also distributes culinary oils and fruits and vegetables, had revenue of Rs12,500 crore.
Mother Dairy Fruits and Vegetables Pvt Ltd MD Manish Bandlish told PTI on the sidelines of the IDF-World Dairy Summit held last week in Greater Noida, “We are anticipating 20% growth this fiscal year in our sales to reach approximately Rs15,000 crore.”

He said that the various dairy products’ rising volumes and prices will be the main drivers of growth. “All of our milk and other dairy products are in high demand. During the summer, ice cream sales increased dramatically “Bandlish said. The lockdowns brought on by the pandemic during the summers of 2020 and 2021 had a negative impact on ice cream sales.
Due to an increase in its purchasing and other input expenses, Mother Dairy hiked milk prices by Rs2 per liter in Delhi-NCR last month. In March of this year, milk costs had jumped by the same amount.

After raising the retail rates last month, Bandlish stated that “our milk procurement cost has further increased by Rs 2 per liter.” Upon being questioned if retail prices will be raised further, he responded, “We may examine it after 3—4 months if this pattern of growing input prices continues.”
Farmers’ selling prices have to be raised as a result of the steep increase in the cost of animal feed. As a result, dairy producers’ costs for obtaining milk have skyrocketed; part of the increase has already been passed on to customers.
Along with its dairy offerings, Mother Dairy also has successful divisions in edible oil, fresh fruits & vegetables, and bread, according to Bandish. Mother Dairy will launch new goods in the bread category to expand its offering for clients who visit its milk booths and Safal retail locations.

A wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board, Mother Dairy was established in 1974. (NDDB). In order to make India a milk-sufficient country, “Operation Flood,” the largest dairy development program in the world, was the catalyst for its establishment.
Under the “Mother Dairy” brand, Mother Dairy manufactures, promotes, and distributes milk and milk-related goods, such as cultured products, ice cream, paneer, and ghee. The firm distributes fresh fruits and vegetables, frozen vegetables and snacks, unpolished pulses, pulps, and concentrates, etc. under the “Safal” brand and sells edible oils under the “Dhara” brand. Numerous milk booths and Safal retail locations may be found throughout Delhi-NCR.

Nine dairy processing facilities are under the ownership of Mother Dairy. It also conducts processing in facilities owned by other people. Over 50 lakh liters of milk may be processed daily in total. The firm makes edible oils through 16 affiliated factories while it has 4 of its own plants for fresh produce.
