The installation of three floating solar power plants in Madhya Pradesh’s water reservoirs, with a total investment of Rs7,500 crore, will begin soon, state officials said on Wednesday.
The information was shared during a renewable energy session on the first day of the state government’s ‘Invest Madhya Pradesh-Global Investors Summit’. Sanjay Dubey, Principal Secretary, Energy and Renewable Energy Department, Madhya Pradesh, presided over the meeting.
Work on three floating solar power projects worth Rs7,500 crore will begin soon, according to officials. These projects will be in addition to the 600 MW floating solar power plant in the Khandwa district’s Omkareshwar dam area.
Officials said that at the summit, Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth a total of Rs16,000 crore were signed in the fields of energy and renewable energy. Hardeep Singh Dang, Madhya Pradesh’s New and Renewable Energy Minister, assured the investors that there would be no problems if they established their units in the state.
