Nifty Closes Above 19,600, Gains Across Sectors

On September 29, benchmark indices concluded the session on a positive note, with the Nifty maintaining levels above 19,600.

As the market day concluded, the Sensex posted a gain of 320.09 points, equivalent to a 0.49% increase, settling at 65,828.41. Similarly, the Nifty recorded a gain of 114.80 points, representing a 0.59% rise, to close at 19,638.30.

Market breadth was positive, with 2246 stocks advancing, 1256 stocks declining, and 152 stocks remaining unchanged.

Key gainers on the Nifty included Hindalco Industries, NTPC, Hero MotoCorp, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, and Tata Motors. In contrast, notable losers included Adani Enterprises, LTIMindtree, HCL Technologies, Tech Mahindra, and Infosys.

With the exception of the Information Technology sector, all other sectoral indices recorded gains, with the metal, power, oil & gas, PSU Bank, and healthcare indices each rising by 1-3%.

Furthermore, the BSE Midcap index witnessed an increase of 1.3%, while the BSE Smallcap index was up by 0.6%.
