NTPC’s power generation increased 11.6% yoy to 295.4 billion units (BU) from April to December of this fiscal year. This is significant because NTPC provides one-fourth of the country’s electricity.
According to a company statement, NTPC generated 295.4 BU from April to December 2022, representing an 11.6% increase over the same period the previous year.
NTPC generated 254.6 BU on its own from April to December 2022, a 16.1% increase year on year, on a standalone basis.
Its coal-fired thermal power plants had a PLF (plant load factor or capacity utilisation) of 73.7% for 9 months in FY23 (April-December 2022), up from 68.5% the previous year.
NTPC’s captive coal production remained at 14.6 MMT during the period, representing a 51% year-on-year increase.
The installed capacity of the NTPC group is 70,824 MW. The company recently passed 3 GW of renewable capacity.
At around 10.40 AM, NTPC was trading 0.51% higher at Rs168.85, against previous close of Rs168 on NSE. The counter hit an intraday high and low of Rs169.20 and Rs166.80 respectively.
