On Tuesday, Larsen and Toubro (L&T) said that it had secured orders in the power transmission and distribution sectors both domestically and internationally, with values ranging from Rs 1,000 crore to Rs 2,500 crore. The infrastructure giant stated in a regulatory filing that new orders have been won in markets both inside and outside of India.
According to the corporation, its division ‘L&T Construction wins significant orders for its power transmission and distribution business’.
In the country, the company has been awarded a contract to integrate SCADA/DMS and associated IT infrastructure for central Gujarat’s metropolitan area power distribution systems. In Jharkhand, another order is for the construction of a 400kV double circuit transmission line.
The business has been awarded a contract to build a High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission segment in the Middle East. This connection is a portion of the big capacity HVDC system in western Saudi Arabia that links Yanbu city with Neom Industrial City. The system is based on Voltage Source Converters (VSCs).
The business has secured an order in a consortium to establish a 275kV substation in the Malaysian state of Sarawak. The order size was not disclosed by the company; nevertheless, based on the project classification, the orders fall between the Rs 1,000 crore to Rs 2,500 crore range.
L&T is a $23 billion firm that works in more than 50 countries across the globe and is involved in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects, high-tech manufacturing, and services.
