P-;G Health stock sheds near 1.5% amid resilient performance in Q1FY23

Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Ltd. has announced its financial results for the fiscal and quarter ended June 30, 2022. Despite unprecedented headwinds from macroeconomic challenges and softening consumption trends, the Company continued to grow and delivered a resilient performance in the fiscal with sales of Rs3,901 crore, up 9% versus year ago, behind the proven superiority strategy and strong brand fundamentals. 
Profit After Tax (PAT) was Rs576 crore, down 12% versus year ago, largely behind commodities inflation which was significantly countered by cost productivity and pricing in the current year. Compared to the fiscal two years ago, the Company’s sales are up 30% and Profit After Tax (PAT) is up 33%.
For the quarter ended June 30, 2022, the company delivered sales of Rs776 crore, down 1% versus year ago. Profit After Tax (PAT) was Rs3 crore, down 13% versus year ago largely behind commodity cost inflation. For the quarter, the healthcare business and feminine care products continue to grow and maintain category leadership.
LV Vaidyanathan, Managing Director, Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Ltd said, “The operating environment continues to be marked by unparalleled headwinds and commodity fluctuations. Despite these inverse challenges, we remain resilient and committed to serve our consumers, delivering sequential sales growth this fiscal. 
The execution of our integrated strategies of a healthy portfolio, productivity, constructive disruption, and an accountable organization structure, has empowered us to deliver these consistent results.”
The directors have recommended a final dividend of Rs65 per Equity Share for the Financial Year ended June 30, 2022, subject to the approval of Shareholders of the company at the ensuing 58th Annual General Meeting.

On Wednesday early morning trade, Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Ltd was trading at Rs14,392.50 per share lower by 1.40% on the BSE.
