Pharmaceutical companies start talking with the Centre for monkeypox vaccine development

28 Jul 2022 , 07:56 AM

There isn’t a next-generation vaccine made particularly for monkeypox, according to one of the businesses that make vaccines, and the virus has also changed. The business stated that if cases increase in the future, vaccination will be necessary.

With the government, several pharmaceutical companies are debating the development of a possible monkeypox vaccine.

Monkeypox has so far been recorded in four instances in India. While one case is from Delhi, the other three cases are from Kerala.

Monkeypox was deemed an international health emergency on Saturday by the World Health Organization (WHO). Dr. Tedros, the head of the WHO, added that “discrimination could be as destructive as the virus,” though.
