Rajiv Mehrishi’s appointment to Tata Power’s board of directors as an independent director has obtained shareholder approval.
The necessary majority was obtained for the special resolution to nominate Mehrishi as an independent director.
With almost 42 years of experience, Mehrishi is a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the Rajasthan cadre and the 1978 batch.
He has held a number of important positions in the Rajasthan and Union administrations. He has held many roles, including that of Union home secretary. He was also India’s 13th Comptroller and Auditor General (C&AG).
He received the Padma Bhushan in 2022.
