Reliance Industries in India increased its oil purchases by 12% from April to May

22 Jun 2023 , 12:27 PM

According to tanker statistics from shipping and industry sources, India’s Reliance Industries bought 1.35 million bpd more oil in May than it did in April.

According to the statistics, Reliance increased its purchases of Colombian and Mexican crude in May, resulting in a decrease in the proportion of Russian oil in the company’s overall crude imports from 34% in April to 30% in May.

Since the West imposed sanctions against Moscow for its invasion of Ukraine, Indian refiners have been purchasing inexpensive Russian oil that many consumers have avoided. Here are specifics regarding Reliance’s imports of oil and condensate.
