Rupee Vs. USD: Indian Rupee Opens Flat at 83.02 Against The USD

6 Sep 2023 , 10:36 AM

The Indian rupee started the day with little change against the US dollar on Wednesday. The rupee opened at 83.02 against the dollar, compared to the previous day’s closing rate of 83.04.

A day earlier, the rupee had depreciated by 29 paise, closing near a two-week low at 83.04 against the dollar. The flat opening of the rupee comes amidst a stronger US dollar and a significant spike in crude oil prices.

On the domestic front, India’s benchmark stock indices, the Sensex and Nifty, displayed minimal movement in the pre-opening session. In Tuesday’s trading session, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net sellers of Indian shares, with sales amounting to Rs 1,725.11 crore.

On the other hand, Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) net purchased shares worth Rs 1,077.86 crore on the same day, according to provisional data from stock exchanges.
