Rupee Vs. USD: Rupee Opens 6 Paise Lower Against The USD

In the wake of weakness observed in Asian currencies, the Indian rupee opened 6 paise lower against the US dollar on Friday. The local currency commenced trading at 82.01, compared to the previous close of 81.95.

Indian Rupee opened 6 paise lower at 82.01 against the US dollar on Friday, impacted by weakness in Asian peers. On the previous trading day, the rupee had closed at 81.95 against the dollar, registering a 4 paise decrease.

Domestic benchmark equity indices, Sensex and Nifty, were observed trading lower in the pre-opening session.

On Friday, Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net sellers of Indian shares, disposing of shares worth Rs 1,998.77 crore. Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) countered the selling trend, net purchasing shares amounting to Rs 1,290.73 crore, according to provisional data from exchanges.
