A Power Delivery Agreement (PDA) for a 12.5 MW group captive project through an SPV called TP Saturn Limited has been inked between Supreme Petrochem Limited and Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), one of India’s top renewable energy companies.
The project, which is situated in Achegaon, Maharashtra, would produce about 27.5 million units (MUs) of renewable energy every year.
In India, Supreme Petrochem Limited, a global leader in polystyrene and expandable polystyrene, is now building a 70 KTA continuous mass process ABS plant. This technology has a minimal carbon impact. The company has made a commitment to powering its production facilities with clean energy.
Within eight months of the PDA being signed, the plant is anticipated to be operational and to reduce carbon emissions by 20,075 metric tons annually.
‘Our partnership with Supreme Petrochem Limited to install 12.5 MW captive solar project will help them meet their sustainable energy requirements,’ stated Mr. Ashish Khanna, CEO of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited. Through our specialized green energy solutions, we are assisting several C&I consumers with high energy needs to join the green energy transition process.
Mr. N. Gopal, Executive Director of Supreme Petrochem Limited, noted this historic occasion by saying, ‘By sourcing clean energy through this PDA with Tata Power Renewable, we are taking significant step towards reducing carbon emissions and achieving our ESG goals of environmental protection to the greatest extent possible.’
The projected group captive power station would increase TPREL’s total capacity for renewable energy to an astonishing 7,902 MW. These projects, which total 3,711 MW and are in various phases of development, demonstrate TPREL’s steadfast commitment to growing its portfolio of renewable energy sources. The company now uses 1,006 MW of wind energy and 3,185 MW of solar energy to operate at a capacity of 4,191 MW.
