Tata Elxsi and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) collaborate on an automotive cybersecurity solution. This joint effort combines Tata Elxsi’s expertise in AI, ML, software-defined vehicles (SDV), and EV solutions with IISc’s advanced research capabilities.
The partnership addresses the challenges posed by complex in-vehicle networks and software advancements in modern vehicles. Vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-anything (V2X) connectivity has increased the risk of theft, tampering, and personal data breaches.
The collaboration focuses on AI and ML-based intrusion detection, aiming to prevent and detect security threats in connected vehicles.
Tata Elxsi aims to revolutionize automotive cybersecurity through this joint development with IISc’s Department of Electrical Communication Engineering. IISc emphasizes academia-industry partnerships to address cybersecurity challenges in today’s digital world.
The design complexity associated with safe in-vehicle networking is significant, with modern cars featuring over 3,000 chips for sensing and control, as per Prof Rajesh Sundaresan, Dean of the Division of Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Sciences (EECS), IISc.
