Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) informed the bourses and investors on Monday that as part of an agreement, it will deliver 9 megawatts of green energy to Tata Motors’ Pantnagar facility.
Tata Motors’ Pantnagar facility in Uttarakhand has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA), according to a statement from Tata Power.
The project will be launched six months after the PPA is signed. TPREL stated that it will be installed using rooftop and ground-mounted devices.
Once operational, the project aims to reduce carbon emissions by 25 tonnes per year.
TPREL and Tata Motors previously collaborated to successfully develop a 7 MWp solar plant at the Pantnagar manufacturing location.
TPREL’s overall renewables capacity will be 7,783 MW after the 9 MW project is completed, comprising 3,651 MW projects in various phases of development.
TPREL CEO Ashish Khanna stated that with this partnership with Tata Motors, Tata Power Renewables is supporting India’s green energy future. The 9 MWp solar power installation reflects company’s commitment to promoting the widespread adoption of environmentally friendly clean energy solutions across industries.
