TCS claims that neither the company nor its personnel are involved in the alleged recruitment scam

26 Jun 2023 , 12:18 PM

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the largest provider of IT services in India, claimed on Friday that the alleged recruitment scam that had been publicized by media sources was not a fraud committed by or against the company and had no financial consequences.

The Mumbai-based company claimed that several workers and vendors who provided contractors violated the company’s code of conduct and that no top managerial personnel of the company had been identified as being involved in the scam.

The business stated in an exchange filing that ‘the recruitment activities in TCS are not handled by the Resource Management Group (RMG) as alleged, therefore the reference to the alleged scam in the recruitment process is incorrect.’

Furthermore, it claimed that the RMG was not in charge of the recruitment activities at TCS, contrary to what was claimed and that the reference to the alleged fraud in the hiring process was therefore inaccurate.

‘RMG is in charge of allocating resources to various projects and, in the event of a shortage, filling any gaps through contractors. The corporation stated that the complaint mentioned in the article refers to the use of such contract resources hired by the contractors.

A Mint story claims that TCS learned that a few senior officials in charge of hiring thousands of crucial employees accepted payments from staffing companies, jeopardizing the hiring procedure.

According to the article, a whistleblower claimed that E.S. Chakravarthy, the worldwide head of TCS’s resource management group (RMG), the company’s recruiting division, had been taking commissions from staffing businesses for years in a message to the company’s chief executive officer and chief operating officer.
