Telecom shares fall

Among the components of the S&P BSE Telecom index, GTL Infrastructure Ltd (down 2.07%), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (down 1.86%),Vodafone Idea Ltd (down 1.14%),Tejas Networks Ltd (down 1.05%),Tata Communications Ltd (down 0.94%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Ltd (down 0.67%), OnMobile Global Ltd (down 0.53%), GTPL Hathway Ltd (down 0.52%), Reliance Communications Ltd (down 0.45%), and Indus Towers Ltd (down 0.17%). On the other hand, HFCL Ltd (up 3.09%), Route Mobile Ltd (up 1.31%), and Railtel Corporation of India Ltd (up 0.2%) moved up.At 13:46 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 492.65 or 0.84% at 58880.58.The Nifty 50 index was up 138.95 points or 0.8% at 17536.45.The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 118.01 points or 0.43% at 27723.09.The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 30.04 points or 0.35% at 8684.94.On BSE,1937 shares were trading in green, 1455 were trading in red and 181 were unchanged.Powered by Capital Market – Live News
