Zomato Limited informed that its Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Gunjan Patidar has tendered his resignation.
Gunjan Patidar was one of Zomato’s first few employees, and he built the company’s core technology systems. Over the last ten years, he has also developed a stellar tech leadership team capable of taking on the helm of leading the tech function in the future. His contribution to the development of Zomato has been invaluable, stated the company in its filing with the bourses.
The company also stated that Patidar was not designated as Key Managerial Personnel under the Companies Act, 2013.
Gunjan oversaw all tech verticals at Zomato. He was instrumental in developing tech talent and launching new customer-focused products.
He was a software engineer at Cyient before joining Zomato in December 2008. He holds a B.Tech degree from IIT, Delhi.
At around 12.05 PM, Zomato’s share fell about 2.16% at Rs59, against previous close of Rs60.30 on NSE. The counter hit an intraday high and low of Rs59.55 and Rs57.30 respectively.
