MCX-SX presents CNBC TV18’s ‘India Best Banks and Financial Institutions Awards 2012’

CNBC-TV18 in association with  MCX Stock Exchange (MCX-SX) India’s New Stock Exchange,presented India’s most esteemed honor for the banking and financial institutions - “India Best Banks and Financial Institutions Awards 2012”. The 2nd edition of this prestigious award was held on 17th October, 2012 at the ITC Grand Central and was presided over by Shri. C.Rangarajan, Chairman of the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council. The event also saw many prominent names from the industry like D. K. Mehrotra, Aditya Puri, Pratip Chaudhuri, A.K. Purwar, H.N. Sinor amongst others.
 
CNBC-TV18’s India Best Bank and Financial institution Awards 2012 recognized and rewarded the outstanding work of banking and finance companies in creating and sustaining stakeholder value, in building investor wealth, and in helping India evolve from a savings to an investing economy. The year 2011-12 has possibly witnessed most volatile and exigent economic environment in comparison to its preceding years, lending a tough time for the Indian Banking ecosystem. The incident of economic slowdown, has certainly worn the profitability of India Inc. However, the Indian Banking system was able to bear the slowdown with minor concerns. The robustness and the capability to withstand the challenges reflected the maturity, skill and efficiency of our Banks, Insurance companies, NBFCs and financial institutions. CNBC TV18 India Best Bank and Financial Institution Awards is created to honor the ability of the financial bodies to manage risk, retain strong fundamentals, create wealth and their contribution in heightening India Inc presence on the global stage.

The winners of these awards have been selected through a robust and comprehensive judging process, based on a combination of criteria. The first stage involved short-listing of India’s best businesses using quantitative techniques. The second stage consisted of short listing of companies that were then presented to the jury. KPMG conducted secondary research and collated data / information across various parameters and then analyzed companies to arrive at a selected set of 5 players across each award category. These nominees were then evaluated by an esteemed jury panel comprising former SBI chairman - A.K. Purwar, former RBI deputy governor - Jagdish Capoor, former ICICI managing director and currently CEO of AMFI -H.N. Sinor and former Union Bank chairman- M.V. Nair.
