RBI is in the advanced stages of discussion with the government for the launch of inflation index bonds

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said inflation index bonds are expected to be launched in a month.

RBI Deputy Governor HR Khan said that it is in the advanced stages of discussion with the government for the launch of inflation index bonds.

Mr Khan was speaking on the sidelines of an event organised by CII at the ADB annual meet in Greater Noida (Uttar Pradesh) on 4th May.

He said that retail participation will be allowed right from the start. However, the quantum of retail portion is being decided.
