Infosys to take over Life Science Consulting and Tech Leader ‘BASE Life Science'

Infosys Limited, a global leader in next-generation digital services and consulting, announced a definitive agreement to acquire BASE life science in Europe, leading technology and consulting firm in the life sciences industry.

The acquisition reaffirms the company’s commitment to assisting global life sciences companies in generating business value from cloud-first digital platforms and data in order to accelerate clinical trials and scale drug development, thereby positively impacting lives and achieving better health outcomes.

BASE brings domain experts with commercial, medical, digital marketing, clinical, regulatory, and quality knowledge to Infosys. BASE, backed by a team of data science experts, is at the forefront of the most recent technological developments and trends.

It has a strong focus on data and artificial intelligence, as well as the ability to bridge and integrate business logic and technology, resulting in insights for better health outcomes.

BASE, headquartered in Denmark, is one of the life sciences industry's fastest-growing technology and consulting partners. The company employs approximately 200 of the best multidisciplinary industry experts from Denmark, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, and a nearshore technology hub in Spain.

BASE seeks to expand its portfolio of expertise into the Consumer Health, Animal Health, MedTech, and Genomics segments in collaboration with Infosys. It works with leading life sciences software technology providers such as Veeva, IQVIA, and Salesforce.

Subject to customary closing conditions, the acquisition is expected to close in the second quarter of fiscal 2023.

At around 12.20 AM, Infosys was trading at Rs1,444.50 down by Rs0.45 or 0.03% from its previous closing of Rs1,444.95 on the BSE. The scrip touched intraday high and low of Rs1,453.20 and Rs1,438.10 respectively.
