Spot gold was up 0.2% to $1,823.79 per ounce, trying to recover from Tuesday's lows, which marked the metal's lowest point since March. Futures for U.S. gold increased 0.2% to $1,838.20.

Brent crude oil futures were up 11 cents to $85.92 a barrel, while WTI was up 7 cents to $84.29 at the same time.

The GIFT Nifty on the NSE IX is showing a modest increase of 8 points, equivalent to 0.04%, as it stands at 19,491.
