Ashok Leyland announced its sales numbers for the month of July 2023. The company registered sales of 15,068 units, up by 10.60% y-o-y as compared to sales of 13,625 units in the previous corresponding month.
The company’s scrip touched an intraday high of Rs 186.05 in today’s trade after its better-than-expected July sales numbers.
The company stated that sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCV) jumped by 17% to 9,571 units. While sales of light commercial vehicles stood marginally higher at 5,497 units in July.
On July 21, the company announced a 747% year-on-year increase in its standalone net profit for the June quarter to Rs 576.42 crore, up from Rs 68.05 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.
The company’s revenue from operations increased 13.4% to Rs 8,189.29 crore, up from Rs 7,222.85 crore the previous year, and other income increased to Rs 51 crore, up from Rs 26 crore.
At around 12.01 PM, Ashok Leyland was trading 1.28% lower at Rs 181.85, against the previous close of Rs 184.20 on NSE.
