The market indices concluded on a stable note in a volatile trading session on November 8. The Sensex edged up by 33.21 points, a modest 0.05 percent, settling at 64,975.61. Similarly, the Nifty witnessed a slight upswing of 36.80 points or 0.19 percent, closing at 19,443.50. The market breadth revealed 1769 advancing shares, 1454 declining ones, and 97 unchanged shares.
Key gainers on the Nifty were BPCL, Adani Ports, Cipla, Asian Paints, and Titan Company. Conversely, ICICI Bank, NTPC, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, and Tata Consumer Products faced a downturn.
Most sectors exhibited positive momentum, with realty, oil & gas, healthcare, and capital goods marking a 1 percent uptick, while the auto, FMCG, and metal sectors observed a 0.5 percent increase. Notably, IT and banking sectors closed marginally lower amidst this varied market movement.
The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices ended on a positive note, both climbing by 0.5 percent. Despite the fluctuations, the Nifty managed to maintain its position above the 19,400 level by the session’s close.
