Auto-giant Maruti Suzuki recorded a total sales of 153,149 units in December 2021. On Monday, the company’s stock traded in the fast lane.
Of the total sales, domestic markets posted a sales of 126,031 units, while sales to other OEM stood at 4,838 units and its highest ever monthly exports of 22,280 units.
The company’s December 2021 sales were lower from sales of 160,226 units logged in the same month last year.
Maruti said that the shortage of electronic components had a minor impact on the production of vehicles during the month. The shortage primarily affected the production of vehicles sold in the domestic market.
“The Company took all possible measures to minimise the impact,” Maruti added.
So far in the nine months of FY22 (April – December 2021), Maruti’s sales stood at 1,163,823 units higher from 965,626 units sold in the same period a year ago.
At around 11.20 am, Maruti was trading at Rs7496.25 per piece up by Rs69.35 or 0.93% on Sensex.
The stock has gained by more than 2% with an intraday high of Rs7601 per piece so far today.
