Snap Inc may not develop flying selfie drone any further

19 Aug 2022 , 12:17 PM

The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday that Snapchat parent company Snap Inc. will no longer be developing its flying selfie drone, the Pixy.

The $230 Pixy will continue to be offered in its existing form, the article claims.

Nearly four months have passed since the Santa Monica, California-based startup unveiled the pocket-sized camera that can fly a few feet above its operator to capture still images and moving pictures.

After releasing poor financial results last month, Snap issued a warning about the “extremely tough conditions” brought on by the current economic unrest and growing competition.
