Amarendu Prakash takes charge as the new SAIL chairman

Amarendu Prakash was appointed Chairman of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). Previously, Prakash held the position of Director in charge at the Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), which he has held since 2020.

He graduated from BIT Sindhri as a metallurgical engineer, and as a Management Trainee (Technical), he began working for SAIL in 1991.

According to a business statement, Prakash has worked for SAIL for more than three decades. Throughout his employment, he has been exposed to both corporate activities at the Head Office and factory operations at the shop level.

According to the statement, he was an important member of the group that oversaw SAIL’s business transformation and financial turnaround from 2015 to 2017.
