B Schools: The business to manage

While B Schools seem to be aplenty, there continues to be an acute shortage of management teachers and instructors.

What’s the solution then? Reports suggest that coordinated functioning mechanism of faculty, students and alumni relationship is the in-thing, akin to US-based B schools.


It’s a win-win situation; alumnis get involved in major B school activities and visit campuses to hard sell their organization while students get mentors from the industry even as they are completing their course.


About 33% of professional CEOs or strategic business leaders in corporate India are from the IIMS who have a loyalty factor towards their institutes. The key is to keep this going after they metamorphose into alumni. “An institution’s reputation and standing mainly rests on the graduates it produces.”


Indian B schools need to face the reality that bricks and stones don’t make a good B school; It’s the people - its Alumni, the faculty and the students and it’s the Bschool’s business to manage their relationship, the report stated
