Indias consumer price inflation accelerated more-than-expected in November driven by food prices, data from the statistics ministry showed Thursday. Consumer prices increased 5.54 percent year-on-year in November, faster than the 4.62 percent increase in October. In the same period last year, inflation was 2.33 percent. Food price inflation surged to 10.01 percent in November from 7.89 percent a month ago. On a monthly basis, consumer prices gained 0.95 percent and food prices advanced 1.68 percent in November.
