SEBI adds Sikkim & Andaman under Kolkata jurisdiction

Issuers from Sikkim and Andaman & Nicobar Islands will now have to file offer documents for issues up to Rs. 5 billion at SEBI’s Kolkata office

Capital market regulator SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) has added Sikkim and Andaman & Nicobar Islands to the jurisdiction of its Kolkata regional office.

Issuers from Sikkim and Andaman & Nicobar Islands will now have to file offer documents for issues up to Rs. 5 billion at SEBI’s Kolkata office.

In its earlier circular in May, SEBI had not included these two regions. The earlier circular mandated that offer documents for issues up to Rs. 5 billion should be filed at that regional office of SEBI under which the issuer’s registered office was based.

For issues above Rs. 5 billion, issuers across the country have to apply to SEBI’s head office in Mumbai.
