Domestic airlines fly 3,13,668 passengers on Feb 28, highest since resumption of flights in May 2020; Indigo, SpiceJet stocks surge

The Aviation Ministry has announced that domestic passengers rose to 3,13,668 with 2,353 flights on February 28, 2021. Hardeep S Puri, Civil Aviation Minister, said that this is the highest since the resumption of domestic flights on May 25, 2020.

Further, total flight movements on February 28, 2021, were 4699. The total number of footfalls in airports was 6,17,824.

At around 1.38 pm, Interglobe Aviation (Indigo) was trading at Rs1686 per piece up Rs11.10 or 0.66%. While SpiceJet trades at Rs0.66 per piece up 0.5% on Sensex.
