Nifty Consumer Durables tops 510 pts as investors prep for 2022; Titan top bull; Bata India, TTK Prestige, Voltas add to gains

The index has touched an intraday high and low of 29,230.50 and 28,719.05.

Investors were upbeat on consumer durable stocks on Friday as optimism over a better 2022-23 fiscal despite concerns over semiconductor shortage and uncertainties lingering from a surge in Omicron cases, drive the performance. The Nifty Consumer Durables index was among the gainers on NSE due to broad-based buying.

The sector is seen to record double-digit growth in 2022 as demand for premium and technologically advanced products accelerate. Furthermore, price correction after softening in raw material inputs coupled with continued improvement in economic conditions and positive sentiments to add to their growth.

At around 2.34 pm, Nifty Consumer Durables was trading at 29,183.45 higher by 516.20 points or 1.80%. The index has touched an intraday high and low of 29,230.50 and 28,719.05.

Index heavyweight Titan was at the top of the chart and climbed by 3.75% followed by Bata India soaring 3%. TTK Prestige and Voltas soared 1.9% and 1.8% respectively. Crompton jumped over 1%.

Stocks like Amber, Rajesh Exports, Relaxo, VGuard and Havells advanced between 0.5-1%. Whirlpool and Kajaria Ceramics were marginally up.

On the downside, Blue Star was the top bear plunging 1.4% followed by Dixon slipping 0.75%. Orient Electric was marginally down.
