L’Oréal India will award scholarships worth Rs. 2.5 lakhs each to 30 young women, granted over a period of four years for graduate studies in a scientific field from a recognized college or university in India.
True to L’Oréal’s belief that the ‘world needs science and science needs women’, L’Oréal India invites Class XII candidates from Delhi, NCR, Maharashtra and Karnataka to apply for the 11th edition of the ‘For Young Women in Science’ scholarship program. L’Oréal India will award scholarships worth Rs. 2.5 lakhs each to 30 young women, granted over a period of four years for graduate studies in a scientific field from a recognized college or university in India.
The L’Oréal India For Young Women in Science Scholarship Programme is an extension of the international L’ORÉAL UNESCO FOR WOMEN IN SCIENCE partnership. The L’Oréal India for Young Women in Science Scholarships program with the support of the Indian National Commission for Cooperation with UNESCO has helped young women, passionate about science, to achieve their dreams and aspirations of pursuing a career in science. By providing the financial assistance to pursue scientific education, this scholarship reinforces the vocation of women in scientific disciplines.
“The number of women with careers in science in India is still very low. L’Oréal aims to promote and encourage women to choose a career in science. This initiative is our small effort to introduce change by acknowledging and enabling worthy women candidates to pursue science. Entering the 11th year and still going strong, Young Women in Science Programme is a great initiative to identify and acknowledge deserving candidates. It gives us immense pleasure to be a part of the next generation leaders in science”, said Dinesh Dayal, Chief Operating Officer, L'Oréal India.
