Bank Nifty index down 100 points; Vodafone Idea extends rally

Infratel, Eicher, Wipro, Cipla and IndusInd Bank among top gainers on the NSE, while Tata Motors, Adani Ports and Titan among top laggards.

Equity benchmark indices erased early losses in the morning trade, with the Sensex above 32,000 levels and the Nifty hovered around 9,500.

Infratel, Eicher, Wipro, Cipla and IndusInd Bank among top gainers on the NSE, while Tata Motors, Adani Ports and Titan among top laggards.

The Indian rupee opened marginally higher at 75.71/$ on Friday.

The most active stocks on the NSE are HDFC Bank, Bajaj Finance and Axis Bank.

From the Bank Nifty space, the index is down 0.58% or 111 points. Bandhan Bank and Axis Bank dropped 2%, HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI Bank were in the negative zone.

Shares of Vodafone Idea zoomed 27% after the media reports said that Google is looking to enter India's telecom market with a 5% stake purchase in the company.
