Bharatiya Mahila Bank in talks with insurers for specialised products

The bank has already tied up with New India Assurance to deliver health insurance policies for women account holders

Bharatiya Mahila Bank (BMB) on Tuesday said it is currently in talks with around seven life insurers, including LIC, for a tie-up to distribute women-centric life insurance products from its branches, according to a media report.
The bank, which started its operations in November 2013, has already tied up with New India Assurance to deliver health insurance policies for women account holders, the report added.
The bank, which at present has 23 branches, is planning to open 60 new branches this fiscal. Its total loan disbursement till date stands at about Rs90 crore, while total deposits are at Rs115 crore.
