Shares of fertilizer companies are trading higher on the BSE in Thursday's afternoon trade in an otherwise subdued market due to media reports over easing El Nino worries.

According to TOI report, worries over EI Nino conditions have eased and there are indications of another year of robust monsoon rains.

The Sensex was down 23 points at 38,563, while the Nifty was marginally up 8 points to 11,592. The market breadth was narrow with 720 shares advancing, 929 shares declining, and 436 remaining unchanged.

Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals Corp Ltd is currently trading at Rs138.90, up by Rs4.3 or 3.19%, from its previous close of Rs134.60 on the BSE.

Fertilizers & Chemicals Travancore Ltd is currently trading at Rs38, up by Rs0.95 or 2.56%, from its previous close of Rs37.05 on the BSE.

Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals Ltd is currently trading at Rs168, up by Rs3.2 or 1.94%, from its previous close of Rs164.80 on the BSE.

Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd is currently trading at Rs61.95, up by Rs1.05 or 1.72%, from its previous close of Rs60.90 on the BSE.

Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd is currently trading at Rs331.50, up by Rs0.85 or 0.26%, from its previous close of Rs330.65 on the BSE.
