Ghana High Court grants interim relief to Bliss GVS Pharma; stock ends lower

The company had filed a commercial suit for infringement of intellectual property rights and the Registrar has been ordered to seize the infringing products.

High Court of Justice, Ghana has granted ex-parte interim relief to Bliss GVS Pharma Limited in a commercial suit for infringement of intellectual property rights and the Registrar has been ordered to seize the infringing products.

“The company had filed a suit in the High Court of Justice, Ghana in its Commercial Division against the infringing party (the "Defendant") in connection with infringement of the company’s registered trademark being illegally manufactured by the defendant.

“Our Advocates on March 25, 2021 have forwarded certified true copy of the order issued by the Court on March 23, 2021 whereby ex-parte interim relief(s) have been granted to the company and the Registrar has been ordered to seize the infringing products.

It further said, in order to protect the interest of the Company and its stakeholders, as well as in order to not affect the execution of the ex-parte Order, the name of the defendant has been excised in this disclosure, while duly complying with extant laws.

Bliss GVS Pharma Ltd on Tuesday ended at Rs100.10 per piece down by Rs1.45 or 1.43% from its previous closing of Rs101.55 per piece on the BSE.
