Union Budget 2016: Agri stocks surge on key reforms

Jaitley announced Rs, 5,500 crore for crop insurance. Also, the Finance Minister said that Rs. 15,000 crore to be allocated for interest subvention in Agri loans.

Stocks of companies involved in Agricultural sector surged after the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announced major key reforms for the sector. The FM announced Rs, 86,500 allocated for the irrigation sector.

Besides, Jaitley announced Rs, 5,500 crore for crop insurance. Also, the Finance Minister said that Rs. 15,000 crore to be allocated for interest subvention for Agri loans.

Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd is currently trading at Rs. 58, up by Rs. 1.95 or 3.48% from its previous closing of Rs. 56.05 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 56.3 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 60.05 and Rs. 56.3 respectively. So far 9934816(NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter.

Sintex Industries Ltd is currently trading at Rs. 68.55, up by Rs. 1.2 or 1.78% from its previous closing of Rs. 67.35 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 67.5 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 68.8 and Rs. 67.2 respectively. So far 910690(NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter.

Bayer CropScience Ltd is currently trading at Rs. 3400, down by Rs. 34.05 or 0.99% from its previous closing of Rs. 3434.05 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 3451.1 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 3451.1 and Rs. 3375 respectively. So far 1352(NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter.
