Nifty above 11,450-mark; Max Healthcare, Yes Bank stocks gain

The Nifty IT and Media index has opened lower while metal index gain in the opening trade.

Domestic markets opened flat tracking global cues after its biggest single-day rally in over a month on Thursday. Market participants will also follow stock-specific developments and keep an eye on news flow on India-China and Covid-19 front.

The S&P BSE Sensex index opened 25.87 points or 0.07% higher at 38,866.19, and the broader NSE Nifty50 benchmark began the day nearly unchanged near the 11,450 mark.

Bharti Infratel, HDFC Life and Titan Company are the top gainers on the NSE.

Amber Enterprises, Reliance Industries and HDFC Bank are the most active stocks.

The Nifty IT and Media index has opened lower while metal index gain in the opening trade.

On the economy front, the July industrial and manufacturing production data is scheduled to release today.

The IMF has said the immediate priority for India needs to be a coordinated policy response to fight Covid-19 outbreak as it had an unprecedented impact on the economy.

IRCTC, BHEL and Adani Green are scheduled to announce their quarterly earnings today.
