Nifty Media index maintains winning spree, surges over 2%; Sun TV, ZEEL led the pack

On Wednesday trading session, Nifty Media took the bull ride again with heavywights  Sun TV and ZEEL lifting the sectorial performance. The Index surged nearly 2.5% despite volatile markets amid mixed global cues on Monday. Majority of the stocks were on fast lane to lead the index as top bull.

At around 11:20, Nifty media was trading at 1782.50 up 41.50 points or 2.38%. The index has touched an intraday high of 1784.25 and an intraday low of 1758.20 during early trading hours on Wednesday.

Dish TV led the charge by surging 13% at Rs17.40 per piece. The company hits new 52-week high today. Sun TV advanced 2.46% at Rs530.75 per piece and ZEEL was 2.43% upside at Rs206.45per piece. 

DB Corp spurted 2.03% at Rs100.40 per piece to lift the performance. 

Network18 was also bullish at Rs40.20 per piece, up 1.64%. TV18 Broadcast and Inox Leisure also gained 1.47% and 1.22% respectively. Jagran also traded marginally higher.

On the downside, TV Today and PVR dragged the sector.

TV Today sank 0.48% at Rs363.10 per piece while PVR was the top bear tumbling nearly 1% at Rs1,275.60 per piece.
