Rallis India to shutdown of manufacturing operations due to COVID-19

The duration of this shutdown is uncertain at this point in time and the resumption of operations at these locations will depend upon the directives issued by the respective Government authorities, the company said.

Rallis India, a TATA Enterprise is a subsidiary of Tata Chemicals, said in the exchange on Tuesday that due to outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Company has commenced safe shutdown activities at its manufacturing operations located at Lote, Ankleshwar and Dahej.

“In view of the outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and compliance with the directives/orders issued by the local Panchayat / Municipal Corporation / State / Central Government authorities and keeping in mind the safety and well-being of all the employees and stakeholders, the Company has, effective March 24, 2020, commenced safe shutdown activities at its manufacturing operations located at Lote, Ankleshwar and Dahej,” Rallis India said in the press note post market hours.

The duration of this shutdown is uncertain at this point and the resumption of operations at these locations will depend upon the directives issued by the respective Government authorities, the company said.

The government approvals and availability of manpower are closely being monitored to explore the feasibility of advancing the annual shutdown for repairs and maintenance of the plants which was scheduled in the 1st week of April 2020; however, at this time this remains uncertain, the company added.
