Rupee closes at 74.05 against the greenback amid lacklustre domestic equities market

Amid volatile domestic equities, Indian Rupee settled 17 paise lower at 74.05 against the greenback at the interbank forex market. The local currency opened higher at 73.79 per dollar against previous close of 73.88.
The day range trade was in 73.76 -74.07 on Friday.
Indian benchmark indices ended on a bearish note. BSE Sensex closed at 44,149.72 down 110.02 points or 0.25% and Nifty50 at 12,968.95 down 18.05 points or 0.14%.
There were concerns among investors on Friday about a vaccine to end the coronavirus pandemic.
Oil prices were mixed on Friday in quiet trade due to the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday, with brent crude rallying to trade USD 0.29 higher or 0.61% at USD 48.09.
