Sugar stocks extend rally; Dwarikesh Sugar soars 15.5%

Sugar manufacturers rose for a second day after the government approved 25% hike in the price of ethanol produced directly from sugarcane juice for blending in petrol.

On Wednesday, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs raised the procurement price of ethanol derived from 100% sugarcane juice to Rs59.13 per litre from the current rate of Rs47.13, as per media reports. The move would help sugar mills quickly release arrears of cane farmers, report added.

Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Ltd is currently trading at Rs23.85 up by Rs3.25 or 15.78% from its previous closing of Rs20.60 on the BSE.

Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries Ltd is currently trading at Rs78.05 up by Rs13 or 19.98% from its previous closing of Rs65.05 on the BSE.

Rana Sugars Ltd is currently trading at Rs4.07 up by Rs0.57 or 16.29% from its previous closing of Rs3.50 on the BSE.

Uttam Sugar Mills Ltd is currently trading at Rs108.95 up by Rs17.8 or 19.53% from its previous closing of Rs91.15 on the BSE.

Kesar Enterprises Ltd is currently trading at Rs35.80 up by Rs5.95 or 19.93% from its previous closing of Rs29.85 on the BSE.

Thiru Arooran Sugars Ltd is currently trading at Rs29.90 up by Rs4.95 or 19.84% from its previous closing of Rs24.95 on the BSE.
