Shares of sugar related companies were in demand following news report that the government has made it compulsory for sugar mills to export surplus sugar supplies to support local prices.

Shares of sugar related companies were in demand following news report that the government has made it compulsory for sugar mills to export surplus sugar supplies to support local prices.

Ponnie Erode Sugar zoomed nearly 18 percent to Rs. 172. Dwarikesh Sugars, Parry Sugar and Dalmia Bharat Sugar soared 13-15 percent each.

Mawana Sugar, Simbhaoli Sugar, Riga Sugar and Sakthi Sugars surged over 9 percent each.

Balrampur Chini, KM Sugar, Banari Sugar, Bajaj Hindustan, Shree Renuka Sugars, Thiru Arooran Sugar, Uttam Sugar, Ravalgaon and Ugar Sugar rallied over 5 percent each.
