Banks have so far disbursed over Rs40bn interest-free loans of the total Rs66bn approved by the government to cash-starved sugar mills for clearing dues to cane farmers

The President of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturer sought the continuation of reduced excise duty on vehicles, apart from seeking a new foreign trade policy and enhanced export incentives for vehicles to boost the auto sector. (BS)
