What not to miss today

-Markets to open gap up; Nifty to find support at 10660, resistance 10930. In yesterday’s trading session the Nifty saw another stellar 200 point gain day as local funds and investors bought stocks aggressively after the twin events of state elections and change of guard at the Reserve Bank of India got discounted.

-FIIs sold 1299cr in (cash), 488cr in Index Futures. In the Stock futures segment, FIIs sold 5cr worth of stock futures and bought 191cr stock options.

-The Indian rupee fell 17 paise to 72.02/$. This is due to a strong American greenback and increasing crude oil prices.

-Shares in the US and Asian markets were up on resurfacing hope over US-China trade deal truce. This is after Huawei Technologies Co's chief financial officer (CFO) Meng Wanzhou was granted bail for $7.5mn by a Canadian Court on Tuesday, media reports said. 

-UK PM Theresa May wins the confidence vote but faces an uphill task to pass Brexit deal.  May won the leadership challenge by 200 votes to 117 votes against her in the ballot of Conservative members of parliament (MPs).

-Sebi eases norms for FPIs, startups; allows MFs to segregate distressed assets. Meanwhile, the market regulator has started the adjudication process against three credit rating agencies, including ICRA, India Rating, and Care Ratings, who had given a higher rating to IL&FS Group companies.

-Retail inflation fell to 2.33% in Nov; Factory output grew 8.1% in October. Read more.

-Sun Pharma’s Taro plant gets tentative ANDA approval for Dapsone from USFDA. 

-Drug delay fine slashed as court attacks EU antitrust case; Lupin to pay €40mn as fine. Read more.

-On Dec 10, Greaves Cotton promoter group Karun Carpets acquired 1lakh shares.

-On Dec 10, Confidence Petroleum India promoter acquired 42k shares.

-HSBC Initiated ‘Reduce’ on Gujarat State Petronet, TP Rs152.

-Morgan Stanley hiked TP on InterGlobe Aviation (Rs1,311), SBI (Rs375).
