Siemens Ltd's Q2FY16 standalone net profit rises 10% yoy to Rs.177.42 crore : Beats Estimates

Siemens , powerhouse in electronics and electrical engineering, reported standalone net profit of Rs. 177.42 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2015, registering growth of 9.61% yoy and 55.6% qoq. The company’s revenue stood at Rs. 2,783.57 crore, up 5.16% yoy and 20.28% qoq.

Its standalone core operating profit of Rs. 306.15 crore for the quarter, clocked growth of 21.9% yoy and 57.83% qoq. Operating profit margin for the current quarter at 11% expanded by 151 bps yoy and 262 bps qoq.

For six months ended March 31, 2015, the company reported standalone net profit of Rs. 291.45 crore, declining by 63.38% yoy. Its standalone revenue for the period stood at Rs. 5,097.82 crore, registering growth of 5.45% yoy.

Siemens Ltd's core operating profit stood at Rs. 500.12 crore, recording growth of 13.71% yoy. Operating margin for the current period at 10.23% expanded by 113 bps yoy.

Stock Commentary:

Siemens Ltd ended at Rs. 1175.4, up by 2.2 points or 0.19% from its previous closing of Rs. 1173.2 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1183 and touched a high and low of Rs. 1189.4 and Rs. 1164 respectively. A total of 462750(NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 41780.03 crore.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1558 on 06-Aug-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 969 on 29-Jan-2016. Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1179.95 and Rs. 1123 respectively.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 75 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 13.95 % and 11.05 % respectively.

The stock traded below its 200 DMA.
